SiteGround Affiliate Program

SiteGround has an affiliate program, which is self-hosted and uses proprietary affiliate tracking software. Anyone can join the program. Let’s review the benefits, drawbacks, commission rate, cookie duration, and details of the program.

Program Benefits

The affiliate landing page is excellent. An affiliate landing page is supposed to be informative, and SiteGround hits the mark. It outlines critical details, and a comprehensive FAQ is available.

Affiliates can earn fantastic commissions. SiteGround pays $50 per sale and $125 for publishers who convert 21+ sales monthly. While many merchants pay higher commissions to top affiliates privately, SiteGround is transparent about its earnings structure.

The payout threshold is one sale. One conversion is all it takes to get paid, and the commission is sent to your PayPal account. The holding period is 30 days, and commissions are paid weekly. Many affiliates overlook payout thresholds, but it’s a critical factor. For instance, A2 Hosting has a payout threshold of $100. Therefore, a publisher must generate two sales to get paid. In my case, I’ve had $90 sitting with A2 Hosting for months, which produces a win-lose outcome. For that reason, A2 Hosting is not a priority for me to promote.

Affiliates get a 30-day cookie. One of my biggest complaints with some programs is that their cookie/conversion windows are too short. SiteGround’s 30-day referral period meets the industry standard, but 60 to 90 days would be more advantageous.

Deep linking is available (but a little clunky). Deep linking is the practice by which an affiliate creates a link to a specific page on the merchant’s site. For example, instead of using a generic homepage affiliate link, I can link to an article that relates to my post. Publishers can create links and direct traffic to pages of their choosing. Use the Affiliate Link Customizer to track traffic and deep link from/to different pages. You can also add your affiliate/ref ID to URLs.

SiteGround is a top-rated hosting provider. Many independent reviewers rate it highly and above its main competitors. It’s one of three hosting companies endorsed by WordPress.org because of its robust technological infrastructure. I moved from DreamHost to SiteGround and am glad I did. Additionally, my page load times and speeds have improved significantly.

SiteGround’s banners are appealing, straightforward, and available in different sizes. They also provide company logos and downloadable images that show users how to get a domain and account. Those are handy for posts about starting a blog.

There’s a full-time affiliate marketing manager. When a merchant has the staff to support publishers, it quickens processes and shows commitment. You can contact the affiliate team via email address and once inside the portal.

Reporting is satisfactory. Affiliates can view commission, conversion, and performance reports and graphs.

A comprehensive affiliate guide is available for beginners and new SG affiliates. It highlights how to become a successful SG affiliate and promotional ideas.

Affiliates can try SiteGround for free. Navigate to the affiliate home menu tab. In the success tools section, you’ll find a link to start a one-month trial. (Note: if you decide to remain with SiteGround, you’ll only save on the first invoice and pay regular prices after that. If you genuinely want to purchase hosting from SiteGround, you’ll save more money by getting a multi-year plan.)

Program Drawbacks

Although affiliates can earn high commissions, the $50 starting commission is on the low side compared to other hosting providers.

Making Money

Can you make $1,000 a month as a SiteGround affiliate? You can and more. SiteGround is a market leader and top-rated company with superior technology. Furthermore, it’s well-known in the WordPress community. It’s commission rate, payout threshold, and referral period make for a robust affiliate program.

Where should SiteGround rank in your marketing activities? It should be a low to mid priority. SiteGround’s referral program is excellent, but the web hosting marketplace is saturated. Therefore, it’s hard to generate commissions consistently because of ample competition. On the other hand, website and hosting needs are commonplace, so you’ll want to promote SiteGround or the company that supports your site.

Top 40 Affiliate Program 200x

I recommend joining SiteGround’s affiliate program because it’s a top web hosting provider, and I’ve made money with it. Furthermore, it’s a Digital Fodder top 40 affiliate program.
