GAMES
PROGRAMMED
I have programmed 4 games using c/c++ under DOS. Descriptions of each game with
the link to its download is provided.
Tetris
Tetris
has the following features :
1. Play upto 99 levels (try reaching level 11 first)
2. Smooth animation of the falling bricks (hey thats tough in DOS)
3. The "Hall of Fame" where we have the highest scorers
4. The "Hall of Fame" is encoded in encoded.txt, so no CHEATING !
5. All the bugs discovered in the previous BETA have been anhilated. (Just hope
we don't have new bugs spawning from them.)
This game is totally "FREE" and you may distribute them amongst each
other. For people who enjoyed tetris, this version, albeit in DOS, will not
disappoint.
Installation Instructions :
1. Install all the files present in the zipped attachment into a single directory
2. Run Tetris1.exe

DX-Ball
This game was probably the most complicated
of all the 4 games I have programmed and I must say that I thought it would
have been the easiest of the lot. But things kept creeping up, bugs et all and
at times I used to feel that there would be no end to it. Even now, there are
a few graphical anamolies caused mainly due to the EGA driver, but they have
become very few to affect the overall game play.
Lets move on to the features of the game :
1. 6 levels of play (no time for creating more levels, sorry)
2. Most of the powers have been incorporated
3. A special 'LASER' power
4. A special DX-Challenge mode which features multiplayer. The 2nd player is
either computer AI or it could be another human player.
5. 3 levels of difficulty in computer AI controlled DX-Challenge
Installation
Instructions :
1. Install all the files present in the zipped attachment into a single directory
2. Run dxball.exe

NFS
0.1
Although this wasn't the toughest game to program,
I learnt a lot. Firstly, I realised the total hopelessness in EGA graphics.
If only I had the knowledge, this game could have had the story and gameplay
to be very good. Secondly, I realised that although this game was far simpler
than Tetris, this game has the best gameplay of all my games (and even my upcoming
game, brick doesn't have this kinda gameplay). It really is loads of fun.
Unlike my previous game, this game needs a decent Pentium to run properly (DOS
and Pentium??). Yes. It will run on slower, but then the game speed is terribly
affected and the game really runs 'slow' and 'jerky'. Also, this game may tend
to run faster on faster processors, and hence to take care that processors at
the end of this year don't make the game absurdly fast, I have put in a setting
called sense of motion in the games option. for more details, just go on the "Read me" module of the game which is accessible from the "New
Design" main menu. Lets have a quick look at the game features
1. User has 3 cars to select from
2. Around 10 colors to chose from to paint your car!
3. A special "Escape from Pakistan" mode in the game (also called
Jehadi Buster mode)
4. Ability to play the game at a blistering pace or in slow motion (using sense
of motion setting)
5. A totally new design main menu and single player menu.
6. Sound Fx, and Engine sounds (although I personally feel the engine sound
is irritating. If you share my point of view, switch it off in the "options")

Snake
Here
are the features of the game :
1. Smooth moving snake (I can bet you haven't seen that before). As usual, I
am delivering top-notch graphics.
2. A totally new main menu (it may look similar to the one in Tetris, but IT's
DIFFERENT).
3. The user can change the skin of the snake (Wow, a skinnable object in DOS??)
4. A totally innovative multiplayer module. (Yes, two players can compete with
each other. This is something new and hence could be disliked by a few of you.
Still, keep the suggestions coming. For details, read the "Read Me" option in the game. In short, the multiplayer module is a race to 40 feeds.)
5. A King Cobra mode from level 8 onwards (I dunno about that, it was a bug
I couldn't correct ;). Jus kiddin)

1. Install all the files present in the zipped attachment into a single directory
2. Run snake.exe
